The other day me Dad had a ring from me private veterinary surgeon to say my passport had arrived from DEFRA.
They are the people who issue the passport once they are satisfied that all the blood tests are ok - which of course mine would be - naturally! Then they issue a "Pet Passport" which has details of me Dad and his address, all my details including a large space for my photo, plus my chip number, and the details of my rabies vaccinations, which have an official government red stamp mark at the side!
We jumped in the Merc and drove up to the surgery and collected the all-important document. Mr George (he is my vet!) had filled in all my personal details so once the time period has elapsed we can start to travel.
Dad says I have to have me own ticket on the Euro Tunnel "Shuttle" (None of this Ferry lark for me! High speed travel is the name of the game for us "International touring GSD's!")
On our return journey to the UK within the last 24 hours before "re-entry" me Dad and I have to visit a French vet for a quick check and document for my re-entry permit. All seem to be very easy!
Now all I have to do is to wait for the qualifying time to elapse, about 4 month around early May and then me Dad says we will be off across the water to Europe!
Deutschland here I come!
