As a result of all the training, I have a placid, happy go lucky, and friendly Shepherd, who is socially very acceptable. His approach to visitors is friendly yet he demands and gets respect. He doesn't jump up at people - something I detest - not the dogs - but dog owners - in allowing it. To me this represents nothing short of bad training and is totally unacceptable! I also can't stand barking dogs, nor dogs, which are disobedient.

Ralph is still far from perfect, and we still have some work to do to tidy up several areas, but he is a lot better than many dogs I have come across. I would be less than honest if I said he had not tested my patience on a number of occasions, both as a puppy and as a "teenager".

Six months on now I look back on endless hours of indescribable pleasure and the immense gratification that I have a totally uninhibited dog. We have learnt a lot and are both better for it.

Ralph has just passed his "Bronze" Kennel Club Good Citizen Award, (June 2001) and his Silver Award (September 2001) - so now we go for the Gold.
