Find out who are the friendly dogs and whom
it is best to steer clear of - there is usually one or two nasty
bits about - so give them a wide berth! What you don't want is your
young, and as yet "untainted" Mutt suddenly scared out of its fur
lined pants but some nasty bit of work, who's daft owner has failed
to check it's aggressive passions at an early age! Usually they
are the ones (owners) who give you a filthy look as if it was your
fault, and appear to suggest you shouldn't have brought such a dangerous
brute to the event. With luck their Mutt will get excited, forget
itself and make a mess on the floor! Then you can go "Errr!"
Alternatively you can suitably advance the
situation if you wish by patting your Mutt on the head and saying
sufficiently loudly, "now "Mountbatten" you don't really want to
be like that, do you?" Always use a "grand" name as it helps to
aggravate the other side who has probably only aspired to naming
theirs "Fred" (apologies to all owners with a dog called Fred! -
great name - love it!) Practice hard and within a few weeks you
will be first class at starting local wars!
A good instructor will usually reprimand any
offender with some direct or indirect, but suitably cutting remark
to draw attention to their shortcomings.
