German Shepherds have rather delicate tummies
especially when young and can very quickly scare you stiff with
their bowel antics. Ralph got me several times on an emergency visit
to the vet at £35.00 a throw because he had suddenly developed the
"squitters." Usually it was due to excessive eating but you are never quite sure! Generally as soon as you have coughed up the £35 they manage an amazing recovery. Boiled white rice and a portion of cooked white chicken meat will help the ailing patient to effect recovery! Plenty of TLC helps as "we roll our eyes" and give off that "I'm dying" look. Once we had such a panic. After eating his lunch normally he was promptly sick at least a dozen times. On arrival
at the vet's surgery Ralph proceeded to "pebbledash" the floor with
a revolting smelling light brown liquid! The guy in front of me
sitting awaiting veterinary guidance, grabbed his mutt and fled!
Apologising profusely and offering to wash the floor (but praying the offer would be refused!) we were quickly rushed into surgery! Great way to jump the queue, but not recommended!
