Ears - both ears upstanding!

I mention this because sometimes you get the odd GSD who has one ear stiffly up and the other struggling! Other GSD folk get a "real kick" in pointing it out, especially if you are testing the waters showing! "Oh your ears aren't up" is the usual gleeful cry from some highly satisfied fellow competitor with a broad grin, and said at a "pitch" just loud enough to ensure all within 50 yards have heard!

"So what! - Your not perfect either!" - is the tempting response, but of course in true to form controlled style you politely grin and mutter something about "Its just bored!" whilst at the same time you flash a bit of tempting food past its nostrils to cause the ear to perk up!

As far as I can make out some GSD's have their ears up from 2/3 months others a 4/5 months most but 6 months.

I know all about ears! Ralph has defied me for months with ears that go up and down, as he feels so inclined, (usually at a show when under the searching eye of the judge he makes sure they are down!) We have suffered all the remarks and gleeful comments. I've got an awkward Mutt! So what, he reckons he looks cute! Actually they have just decided to stick up (at 10 months) and stay up, so at last we are on a winner!
